Boots To Shoes Foundation
The Boots to Shoes mission is to augment veterans support services for 21st century Veterans' successful transition into civilian jobs. It serves as an example for going forward by giving back. Through a combination of one-on-one meetings and phone conversations, a mentor provides business knowledge as a veteran plans and conducts a job search. Boots to Shoes seeks interested volunteers from the business and professional community to be mentors for transitioning active duty and military veterans.

The BTS programs are now with Military & Veterans Services at Goodwill of the Olympics & Rainier Region.
Services
Boots to Shoes (BTS) accomplishes its mission by engaging and training volunteers from the business community to be mentors for transitioning veterans.
BTS mentors are trained to provide coaching for resumes, job search plans, interview skills and echo the bottom line: appreciation for the veterans' service to country.
Serving Washington state greater Puget Sound area since 2010 Boots to Shoes Foundation seeks to honor the veteran's service to their country by helping close the unemployment gap currently experienced by post 9/11 veterans.
Greater Puget Sound refers to west of the Cascade Mountains, north as far as Whidbey Island and South to Olympia.
No, however, prior to leaving the area active duty military or veterans may apply and be assigned to a Puget Sound mentor.
Veterans relocating to Puget Sound may apply upon their arrival.
A BTS trained mentor will meet one-on-one with you and will challenge and inspire you to do your best on your job search, provide insight into how to navigate the civilian job search world and encourage you to explore work opportunities in areas you hadn't considered.
Boots to Shoes seeks interested volunteers from the business and professional community to be mentors for transitioning active duty and military veterans.
All mentors participate in the BTS Mentor Savvy Workshop and make a six month commitment to meet with the assigned mentee at least twice a month.
The BTS tagline of "Helping 21st Century Veterans Capture 21st Century Jobs", says it all.
By engaging volunteers from the business community to be mentors for transitioning veterans, BTS helps to minimize the obstacles to civilian employment experienced by previous generations of veterans.
